BeFitDavis has partnered with Athleta to provide a unique fitness and running program. The BFD Program uses a combination of strength training and running, that can be completed without any equipment and can be done anywhere. BFD Clients are all provided a custom run and fitness program designed to increase their strength, mobility and flexibility, and prepare them to complete a half marathon. BFD groups meet in person with a coach twice a week at their community Athleta store for a scheduled workout or run. Each participant will become a member of the Athleta community, and will be assigned a coach that will encourage them to stay on track. A custom online program is followed for the rest of the week to guide each member through proper workouts and rest when needed. Coaches are available for regular communication and any questions, big or small, and to guide clients on proper form and technique.

What is a BFD Program?

A functional fitness program designed to prepare you to run a half marathon. The program uses strength-training workouts that can be done at home with no equipment. The running portion of the program is set up to train anyone (all fitness levels), even those that think running a half marathon is impossible, to properly train to complete a half marathon.

Where is the group training?

Group training is one evening each week (Tuesday or Wednesday depending on your store) and Saturday mornings. The weeknight meeting is a group strength workout and will meet at your local Athleta. The Saturday run will initially meet at Athleta for warm-up, use of the restrooms, water and snacks. Your coach will then give you a running route based on the scheduled mileage on your program.

What is a BFD Coach?

They are coaches that will educate and motivate you to train with proper form and technique. You will have access to communicate with your coaches to ask questions about workouts and the program. Each BFD Group associated with an Athleta location has its own coach.

How will I get my daily workouts?

Once you register, you will receive exclusive access to the BeFitDavis smart phone app where you can then view your daily workout.
