I am currently 35 weeks pregnant and have received many requests for a weekly update during these last few weeks of pregnancy. So here ya go! I first want to let you know that I am done running until after this baby arrives. Like DONE! I hit my 1,000-mile goal of pregnant miles, and am now enjoying this time off. The last few runs before reaching my goal felt okay during the run, then after I would get Braxton Hicks (BC) contractions like nobody's business. I have gotten mild ones toward the end of pregnancy with each of the boys, but this time they freaking hurt! I am carrying this baby very low (no, that doesn't mean it's a girl…it probably just means that it's my fourth child and my body is done!), so when I get BC’s, it causes a lot of pelvic pressure.
Although I am not running, I am doing my best to stay active. I do a light workout, when I feel up to it, and try to incorporate a lot of stretching and breathing. Ultimately, I am listening to my body and lately my body is saying rest! Sleeping at night has become difficult as I have a bit of pregnancy insomnia, then when I do fall asleep, either the baby kicks me, one of the boys come and crawls in my bed, husband starts snoring, or my bladder wakes me up. I have come to terms with the fact that I feel like I may never sleep again! I know this is getting me used to waking frequently with my newborn child.
I have always envied women who love to be pregnant. I wish that were me! I understand that pregnancy is a miracle, and I have been blessed to have no major complications-just normal pregnancy stuff, like extreme morning sickness, heartburn (so bad it makes me throw up), sciatica, hip and back pain, swelling and pressure and the list goes on. Also with this pregnancy I have felt oddly claustrophobic. I have a hard time wearing necklaces, brackets or certain clothes. There are times that I feel like this baby is suffocating me. Lastly, we still do not know the gender and are extremely excited for the biggest surprise of our lives! Boy or Girl-we are blessed and can not wait!
